SUPPORT THROUGH FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION

Our Music Makes a Difference

We’ve teamed up with the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) in the United States, to
help raise funds for and awareness about eye disorders.  FFB was established in
1971 to help find treatments, cures and research for blinding diseases, including age-
related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, Usher syndrome, Stargardt disease,
Leber congenital amaurosis, and more. Together, these conditions affect more than 10
million Americans and millions more worldwide.

Looking Up’s composer, Michael Bryan Stein, composed and recorded an original song
entitled “Looking Up” to conclude the film. We will be donating all proceeds from
downloads/streams of the song to FFB.

Your attendance makes a difference

LOOKING UP’s ongoing worldwide success made us realize that audiences can have a huge impact on raising awareness of blinding diseases and disability.

For non-profit institutions, we will waive the accepted screening fee and encourage institutions and organizations that screen the film to choose a mutually agreed upon charity and donate a percentage of tickets sales.

Organizations that have received fee donations so far include: The RD Fund.

SUPPORT THROUGH ADVOCACY & EDUCATION

One of the main goals of LOOKING UP is to raise awareness for Retinitis Pigmentosa worldwide and we’re eager team up and create events that focus on that mission.

In Israel, we are working with Lirot, the Association for Eye-Health and Blindness-Prevention Research. A representative from Lirot, often someone diagnosed with RP, has taken part in many of our screenings in Israel, discussing the condition and answering questions. We have also tapped leading doctors, scientists, and ophthalmic start-up entrepreneurs  to discuss recent developments in the field though panels and Q&As.

One of our screenings in Israel took place on National Month of Awareness for People with Disabilities and included a screening, followed by a panel with representatives from Hadassah Hospital, CorNeat, and Lirot.  In November SLIFF (St. Louis International Film Festival) held a screening free to Veterans on US Veteran's Day. And we are currently scheduling screenings  for the month of Disability Awareness in the US in February.

Please reach out to us if you’d like to put together an awareness-forward event.

SPREAD THE WORD

LOOKING UP seeks to raise awareness about RP through film screenings and broadcast, but our reach would be so much broader if you could help us spread the word.  If you loved the film, please post a film recommendation to your network on social media. A downloadable image of the poster is available HERE.

Help us reach more people by becoming part of the movement for living boldly. Whether it’s a small gathering in your living room, a community center event, or an academic forum, your screening will help spark impactful conversations.
